It’s not. We hate it.
So for every single ticket sold – while stocks last obviously as we don’t have a magic glass machine – you will be given a halbe Maß/0.5 litre commemorative stein.
And we’re not talking some cheap plastic imitation glass.
A proper Sahm tankard, manufactured in Höhr-Grenzhausen, near Koblenz (where the Moselle River meets the Rhine River) in Western Germany.
This is by no means an easy feat.
It means we started working on this year’s logo (the one at the top of the page if you want a sneak peak) before we even finished last year’s Oktoberfest, and had designs and orders locked in not long after we flipped our calendars to 2026.
This ensures you get an original German-manufactured glass, printed and kiln-fired in Germany, and shipped here in time to be ready for you to grasp in October!
How does it all work?
At entry to the festival you’ll be given a voucher to present to the bar. Hand that to one of our team, let us know which of the 24 Bier on tap you want to fill it with (maybe figure this out before you get to counter though as the choice may be a bit overwhelming at first), and then we’ll hand you one of the most magical things possible…
A freshly poured German Bier in a crisp chilled German glass tankard – both at the culmination of their journey from the other side of the planet – to your lips!
And then, when you’ve drained it, bring your empty stein back to the bar and we’ll swap it for a clean glass with your next fill.
When you’re done for the night swap it at the bar on your way out so you’re not making a mess in the back of the Uber.
Halbe Maß? What about Maß?
If you’re not a fan of drinking out of a half-litre stein, then yes, of course we also have the same commemorative design in 1 litre size. At any point you can upgrade your stein for $20.
But again, we don’t have a magic glass machine for these either, so while stocks last.
Note however that the complimentary fill which is included with entry only gives you the first 500ml. But you’re welcome to pay for the rest of the fill to give that Maß the pour that it deserves.
Can I take every stein I can find with me when I leave?
Nein!
Each adult can only leave the venue with one stein each. Please don’t expect to be able to do the whole “oh no, these ten steins were my friend’s that they left behind”.
That’s not very German.
